The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Myles Standish State Forest (MSSF) has been approved by the DCR Stewardship Council. The RMP will guide future management of in the effort to protect the forest's natural resources while providing sustainable recreational opportunities. FMSSF would like to thank DCR for recognizing the value of MSSF and giving priority to the completion of the RMP. We would also like to thank the many representatives from the various DCR agencies, state and local officials, and caring citizens who participated in this process to help create a comprehensive RMP. We especially want to thank DCR Planners Andy Backman and Jim Baecker for the extra effort they made to include the FMSSF in the planning process.
